To meet ASTM, ISO and other specifications, a coating is applied to the panel with a specified film thickness and allowed to dry. The dry-coated panel is then rubbed with a Gardco or BYK scrub abrasion tester in accordance with the applicable method for determining scrub resistance. This is typically measured by counting the number of cycles required to remove the coating, or by measuring the weight loss of the coating after a specific number of scrubbing cycles, allowing the film thickness reduction to be calculated. The economical black scrub test panels are priced for significant savings and comply with ASTM D 2486. These panels have different gloss levels/surface profiles on the 2 sides of the panels.
