The Nordson Dual Wet Film Thickness Gauge measures all types of wet coatings in mils and microns, such as: paints, lacquers, enamels, adhesives - that are sprayed, dipped or brushed onto a smooth surface.
This WFT caliper makes it easy for anyone to obtain fast and highly accurate measurements on flat surfaces.
Characteristics:
All Nordson wet film thickness gauges feature a mil scale and a micron scale side. Each side has four different faces with a series of progressively staggered flat edges. The faces can be rotated to use a new set of measurement edges. The thickness of your coating can be read directly by placing the gauge perpendicular to the painted surface and noting the last and highest edge touched by the film.

ASTM D713 Traffic Paint Wet Film Thickness MeasurementInstructions:
1- Place the meter on the wet film at an angle of 90°
2- Press on the movie.
3- Remove and look at the deepest tooth that has paint and the next top tooth that is not coated.
4- The thickness of the wet film is between these two readings.
5- Clean the pressure gauge with any suitable solvent immediately after use.
6- The drawing indicates that the tooth marked with 3 thousandths of an inch has made contact with the wet paint and the tooth marked with 4 thousandths of an inch has not. This indicates that the true wet film thickness of the material is between 3 and 4 mils. - ACCESSORY
