• Interferences - The coexistence of the bromide ion, lodide ion or cyanide ion respectively with the chloride ion gives higher readings. The sulfur ion produces a brown spot and the coexistence with the chloride ion produces a brown spot at the bottom of the stained layer and gives higher readings. pH values ​​between 3.5 and 11 do not affect the readings. Less than pH 3.5 or more than pH 11 gives higher readings. Chemical reaction in the detector tube: NaCl + Ag2CrO4 = AgCl.
